Aston Villa and Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Maximilian Beier by submitting “concrete offers” to sign the TSG Hoffenheim striker this summer.
According to reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Aston Villa and Chelsea are interested in signing Maximilian Beier from TSG Hoffenheim in the summer transfer window. The two Premier League clubs have made “concrete offers” to land the German international, although it is unclear if the bids reached his release clause of €30 million.
The rapid rise of Maximilian Beier
Maximilian Beier has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Bundesliga since breaking into the first-team squad at TSG Hoffenheim. A native of Brandenburg an der Havel, he spent his formative years with four clubs and graduated from the youth division at TSG Hoffenheim a few years ago.
Beier made his first-team bow for TSG Hoffenheim as a 17-year-old in February 2020 but had to wait until the 2023/24 season to enjoy his breakthrough at the Bundesliga club. The 21-year-old was solid throughout the campaign, amassing 16 goals and three assists in 33 Bundesliga outings.
Maximilian Beier’s exploits for TSG Hoffenheim helped earn his Germany debut last month. In addition, the German international has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs with his progress, with Aston Villa and Chelsea submitting “concrete offers” to sign him from TSG Hoffenheim in the summer transfer window.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Aston Villa’s interest in Maximilian Beier is understandable. The Villans have been scouring the market for a striker in the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Jhon Duran. Beier has thus emerged as a viable target for Aston Villa.
As for Chelsea, the Blues have been keen on signing a striker in the summer transfer window after Nicolas Jackson blew hot and cold last season. While they have signed Marc Guiu, they want to land another centre-forward this summer. Beier is thus an option worth considering, with his release clause of €30 million making him an appealing target.
Aston Villa and Chelsea should have the funds to cough up €30 million to secure Maximilian Beier’s services. However, agreements with the player and the club are far away for all parties. So, it will be interesting to see if an adventure in the Premier League is on the cards for the 21-year-old German international.
