Sergio Reguilon offered to Sevilla

Tottenham full-back Sergio Reguilon may return to Sevilla, as his agents have contacted the club about a potential move this summer.

Sergio Reguilon is expected to be on the move before the end of the transfer window. He does not seem to be a part of Tottenham’s plans moving ahead and according to a report from Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, his agents have reached out to his former club Sevilla to discuss a potential return.

Reguilon’s time at Tottenham to end soon

Reguilon came up the ranks at Real Madrid. While he did get promoted to the Spanish club’s first team, he parted ways with them in 2020 in search of regular first-team action following an impressive loan spell at Sevilla. The move to Tottenham has not worked out in his favour as he has spent the last two seasons out on loan.

He was with Atletico Madrid during the 2022/23 season, while he spent the first half of the 2023/24 season with Manchester United and the second half with Brentford. Reguilon is back at his parent club, but he does not have a future there.

With his £53,000-a-week contract at Tottenham running out in 12 months, the North London club are ready to cash in on their left-back, and his agents have been on the lookout for an opportunity for their client to revive his career. They have offered the Spaniard to his former club Sevilla as it has come to light in recent days that they need to sign a new left-back.

The Andalusian giants are not enjoying the best of times, as they finished 14th in La Liga last season. And in an attempt to revive themselves, they are trying to ensure they do make all the necessary changes.

Sevilla need a new left-back, Reguilon could return

People at Sevilla and their manager Garcia Pimienta are not convinced by Adria Pedrosa’s performances. They do not feel he can be their preferred choice at left-back going into the 2024/25 season. While Los Nervionenses do have Marcos Acuna for that role, the Argentine international’s future at the club is not certain.

They have not received any offers for him yet, but Acuna has already informed the club that he wants a new challenge. In a situation where he ends up leaving, Sevilla could surely look at Reguilon as a potential replacement.

The Spanish full-back is only 27, and he still has quite a few years left in him. More importantly, he was a part of the Sevilla first-team back in 2019/20, and he surely had an impact with eight goal contributions in his 38 outings. While they have been offered the Tottenham outcast’s services, a move will only happen if and when Acuna leaves.
