Aston Villa are reportedly keen on signing Karem Adeyemi as an attacking option after the sale of Moussa Diaby.
According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are showing interest in Karim Adeyemi as Unai Emery ponders bringing in a new attacking signing. The sale of Moussa Diaby could be a significant factor in the club’s decision to look for a new winger, with Borussia Dortmund ready to sell him. Chelsea is also chasing the German international.
Aston Villa are chasing Karim Adeyemi
Karim Adeyemi’s numbers do not represent his value to Borussia Dortmund, as he’s clearly a lethal player when it comes to attacking. The German giants are known to play in transitions, and the winger does have a significant effect on how they move the ball forward. However, he has been offered to multiple clubs this summer, as Dortmund are open to cashing in on him for the right price.
Having scored only 14 goals in 66 appearances, Borussia Dortmund are ready to sell him for around £35 million amid some interest from the Premier League and elsewhere. The latter being some enquiries from Barcelona, who are prioritising a move for Nico Williams and might turn towards Adeyemi if that plan ultimately fails.
Chelsea are also keen on Adeyemi, as they are in the market for a left-winger, and the German international does play on that side despite being left-footed. The Blues are looking at him as an option, but they might have to buckle up following Aston Villa’s entry into the picture.
Villa are eyeing a Marquee signing after the sale of Moussa Diaby to Al-Ittihad, and while Adeyemi does not quite fit that category, he could be seen as a valuable addition. The loss of the Frenchman does leave a gap in their attack, as Emery might be looking at different options, including the £35 million-rated German international.
Aston Villa looking at another attacking signing
With the Adeyemi links, one might assume he’s probably the direct replacement for Diaby. While he’s not a right-winger by trade, Emery can develop him into one if needed. Either way, Aston Villa might be looking at another attacking addition beyond the German international or another winger.
They are linked with Joao Felix, with the attacker likely to show an interest in joining Aston Villa as his other options appear shut at this moment. Villa could do well with a signing like the Portuguese international, who might set them back financially for the cost of his signing and the wages he might demand for joining the Birmingham-based side.
