Galatasaray keen on Issa Kabore

Galatasary have added Issa Kabore to their shortlist of new right-backs, as the position becomes a priority for the Ruskish champions.

According to Haber Sari Kirmizi, Galatasaray are interested in exploring a move for Manchester City wide man Issa Kabore. The Burkina Faso star might be seen as an option to solve their issues at right-back, as the 23-year-old wide player becomes the latest on their shortlist of potential targets.

Galatasaray eyeing Issa Kabore swoop

Issa Kabore is a testament to Manchester City’s loan system, as the 23-year-old wide player has massively benefitted from their ideas. The player, who joined in 2020 from Belgian side KV Mechelen, has grown in stature year by year through moves to many top-tier clubs.

Having returned to KV Mechelen right after his transfer to Man City, Kabore spent the next two years in Ligue 1 with Troyes and then Marseille, gaining massive first-team experience at the top level. Last season was probably his best loan spell, as he made 24 Premier League appearances for Luton Town.

Despite suffering relegation with the Hatters, Kabore benefitted from the experience of the English top flight, putting in some impressive displays, mainly in the right-wide role. He does not have any future with Man City, meaning they are open to selling him for a massive profit, as Galatasaray have sounded out a move.

Galatasaray are in the market for a strong right-back, as they failed to replace Sacha Boey since his departure to Bayern Munich in January. Hence, they might see Kabore as a fit for their system and could either angle another loan or a permanent transfer. Transfermarkt rates him at €10 million, although Man City are likely to demand more in this market.

Galatasaray’s right-back options

Galatasaray might have added the 23-year-old Kabore to their list, but they have been looking for a right-back since the end of the previous season. Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka remains a target, as he could be allowed to quit Old Trafford this summer for the right price, which would be in the region of €20 million.

They also have Djed Spence on their radar, with the Tottenham star impressed during his loan spell with Genoa in the second half of last season. Either way, Galatasaray is exploring many more names, and if they fail in the Kabore chase, they will have other options to consider.
