Chelsea submit offer for Filip Jorgensen

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have submitted an offer worth around €20 million for the services of Villarreal shot-stopper Filip Jorgensen.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are keen on signing Filip Jorgensen as they look to bolster the goalkeeping position. The Blues have been in talks with Villarreal and they have already submitted an initial offer of around €20 million to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Jorgensen joined the Villarreal youth setup back in 2015. He came up the ranks and was promoted to the senior team at the start of 2023. While he could only manage six clean sheets in his 36 league outings last season, he has shown signs of great promise.

Chelsea want a goalkeeper, submit bid for Jorgensen

The 22-year-old has an incredible amount of potential and that is why he finds himself on the wishlist of some of the top clubs. Chelsea are one of the clubs who are keen on signing the Danish youth international. The Blues are looking to bring in a new shot-stopper, they want someone who can help them in the short as well as long run and Jorgensen seems to be an ideal fit.

While they did make a significant investment to bring Robert Sanchez to the club from Brighton last summer, people at the club are not entirely sure about him being their number one going forward. Reports have even suggested that they could look to offload him in the summer. Irrespective of whether he continues or not, the Blues have their eyes set on Jorgensen. He is a potential target for Maresca’s team who are looking for a new goalkeeper.

He could come in to be Sanchez’s competition for the number-one slot or if the former Brighton star leaves, the Danish goalkeeper could end up being their go-to man in goal. The Blues were in talks with the Spanish club and they have finally taken the first major step towards signing him.

Chelsea have submitted a bid in the region of €20 million for the Villarreal goalkeeper and they await the response of the Spanish club. Talks with the player’s camp continue and he is reportedly keen on making the move to London.
