Chelsea are ready to part ways with Trevoh Chalobah, Cesare Casadei, and David Datro Fofana ahead of next season.
Chelsea have been quite busy in the ongoing transfer window, and they are expected to carry on in a similar fashion. While the focus will be on the signings they make, there will be a few major outgoings and according to a report from HITC, the Blues have informed Trevoh Chalobah, Cesare Casadei, and David Datro Fofana that their services are no longer needed at Stamford Bridge.
Chalobah’s time at Chelsea to end soon
Chalobah has come up the ranks at the London club. While he broke onto the scene in some fashion, the English centre-back has not been able to establish himself in their first team, and he has struggled with injuries in the recent past.
The Chelsea academy graduate did fight his way back into the team towards the second half of last season. However, the Blues have decided to cash in on him and have informed new boss Enzo Maresca that they want to sell their academy graduate, whose departure will result in pure profit helping them balance their books.
Chalobah has been left out of their pre-season squad, which has resulted in a lot of talk about his future. They have already informed Chalobah that is not a part of their plans moving ahead and have asked the defender to find a new club.
Casadei and Fofana do not have a future at Chelsea
While Chalobah did see it coming, he is hugely disappointed to be left out of their pre-season campaign. The Blues have also held talks with Cesare Casadei and David Datro Fofana about their futures at the club. Chelsea signed Casadei from Inter Milan in the summer of 2022. They brought in the young midfielder with a lot of expectations. But he has not been able to live up to it.
The Italian midfielder has four years left on his deal, but they have informed him as well as Fofana that they can leave the club permanently. The Ivorian striker joined the London club from Molde FK in the winter of 2023. So far, he has only featured in four matches for the first team and spent the entire 2023/24 season out on loan.
Fofana does not seem to be the right fit for Chelsea, and parting ways does seem to make sense. While there is significant interest in the services of Chalobah, it will be interesting to see if there are clubs who want to add Casadei and Fofana to their squad.
