Enzo Maresca an admirer of Mads Hermansen

Chelsea’s new boss Enzo Maresca could look to reunite with Leicester City goalkeeping sensation Mads Hermansen.

According to Tom Collomosse, Enzo Maresca is a big admirer of Mads Hermansen, who did wonders for him at Leicester City. Following his arrival at Chelsea, the Italian manager has already signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from his former club, and his admiration for the Danish goalkeeper could develop into something more concrete. The Foxes will demand £45 million to sell him this summer.

Hermansen came up the ranks at Bröndby IF and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before making the move to Leicester City last summer. Enzo Maresca had just taken charge of the Foxes after parting ways with Manchester City, where he was an assistant to Pep Guardiola.

The 24-year-old proved to be a key signing for the Italian manager as he helped them secure a return to the Premier League. He was involved in 44 out of Leicester City’s 46 Championship matches and managed to keep a clean sheet on 13 occasions while conceding just 41 goals.

Marseca is a big fan of the Danish shot-stopper, who seems to have shown significant development over the last 12 months. While he still has four years left on his deal with the Foxes, he could be on the move as multiple clubs seem interested in his services.

Will Chelsea make a move for Hermansen?

Chelsea are one of the clubs that have been linked with the young goalkeeper. While they did bring in Robert Sanchez to be their number one, the former Brighton & Hove Albion shot-stopper has not been able to convince people at Stamford Bridge that he is the right fit for them.

Reports have suggested that the Blues are looking to part ways with him, which could lead to a top-level signing in that position. They could make a move for Hermansen, having already signed Dewsbury-Hall on the demand of their manager.

While it is still unclear if the admiration will turn into something much more serious, Marseca would surely fancy having him at his disposal. If Chelsea do eventually look to make a move they might find things difficult as Leicester City will have the upper hand in negotiations for the £45 million-rated star as he still has years left on his deal.
