Andrey Santos set to return to RC Strasbourg on loan

Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos will reportedly join Ligue 1 outfit RC Strasbourg on loan in the upcoming season.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, a number of clubs were keen on signing Andrey Santos in the summer transfer window. But Chelsea have decided to send the 20-year-old back on loan to their sister club. Borussia Dortmund wanted to sign the youngster, but the similar style of play at Chelsea and Strasbourg has resulted in his return to the French club.

The 20-year-old was on loan at RC Strasbourg during the second half of last season as well, and he scored one goal in 11 league appearances for the French club. He will be hoping to continue his development with regular football in Ligue 1, and it remains to be seen whether he can return as a better player in the summer of 2025.

Santos is highly rated at Chelsea, and he has a bright future ahead ahead of himself. The Blues are focusing on his development right now and hoping to help him improve with ample first-team exposure. Sitting on the bench at Chelsea is unlikely to benefit him.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder could play a key role in the first team in the coming seasons. It remains to be seen whether Santos can use this experience to improve as a footballer. He will be hoping to force his way into Enzo Maresca’s first team plans once he returns from his loan spell in the summer of 2025.

Andrey Santos is a long-term prospect for Chelsea

The 20-year-old was a long-term investment for Chelsea, and the Blues will look to nurture him is a key player for the club. If he manages to fulfil his tremendous potential with Chelsea in the coming seasons, he could prove to be a fine investment for the Blues. Chelsea have shown a willingness to invest in talented young players in recent seasons, and they will hope to make a success story out of Santos.

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old will look to establish himself as a key player for RC Strasbourg next season and play for them regularly. Competing at a high level in Ligue 1 will certainly help him develop, and regular first-team football would accelerate his development as well.
