Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer move to sign 25-year-old Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad this summer.
According to a report by the Daily Telegraph, Martin Zubimendi is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils have been keen on bolstering their midfield unit in the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old Real Sociedad midfielder has thus emerged as a target for the Premier League heavyweights.

Martin Zubimendi has made considerable progress since breaking into the first-team squad at Real Sociedad. The Spaniard took some time to establish a foothold in the senior setup at the Reale Arena, making his bow after turning 20 towards the end of the 2018/19 season.
Since then, the 25-year-old has come leaps and bounds while establishing a foothold in the Spanish national squad. Zubimendi, who has turned out nearly 200 times thus far for Real Sociedad, was a part of Spain’s squad and lifted the UEFA Euro 2024 trophy along with his compatriots earlier this month.
The Spanish international played his part in the final after replacing Rodri at half-time, restoring balance and control in the middle of the park for La Roja. Meanwhile, Martin Zubimendi’s progress at Real Sociedad has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe, including Manchester United.
Premier League move on the cards?
Manchester United’s interest in Martin Zubimendi is understandable. The Red Devils have been scouring the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Casemiro, Scott McTominay, and Christian Eriksen.
While Manchester United are closing in on signing Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain, they can do with another midfield signing, especially if they offload multiple midfielders. So, Zubimendi is a viable target for Manchester United, with other candidates, including Adrien Rabiot, also on their radar.
As for the move to pursue Martin Zubimendi’s signature, it will be interesting to see if the 25-year-old UEFA Euro 2024-winning midfielder becomes a top target for Manchester United in the coming days. However, convincing the Spanish international to leave Real Sociedad will be a tall order for the Premier League heavyweights, even if he rises in the pecking order.
