Liverpool uninterested in selling Trent Alexander-Arnold, set €80 million price tag

Liverpool are not keen on selling Trent Alexander-Arnold amid Real Madrid’s interest, but if they are forced to, they will demand at least €80 million.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool could demand as much as €80 million at the very least to sell Trent Alexander-Arnold, although they are uninterested in seeing the right-back leave. Real Madrid are repeatedly linked with the England international and could consider a move if he becomes available.

Liverpool not keen on selling Trent Alexander-Arnold

There are two sides to the Trent Alexander-Arnold transfer argument – Liverpool are not interested in selling him, but they could if the player wants to quit. That said, the right-back has been a Red through and through, having come through their academy ranks and becoming a big-name star within the current squad under Jurgen Klopp.

Alexander-Arnold’s contract expires next summer, and Liverpool are a bit concerned amid Real Madrid’s big interest in the right-back. Florentino Perez has earmarked key defensive signings this summer after securing star attacker Kylian Mbappe after his contract with PSG expired in the summer.

Real Madrid have contacted the player’s entourage, as there are active conversations in the background, which only increases the pressure on Liverpool to find a solution to this problem. The Merseysiders are uninterested in selling their star man and are actively working to renew his stay at Anfield.

Liverpool are expected to offer him a bumper new deal, and while talks are yet to begin on the contractual front, there is a feeling Trent Alexander-Arnold would stay. He has deep roots with the club after coming through the academy ranks, and while there is a new regime under Arne Slot in place, Alexander-Arnold is considered the future of this club.

Liverpool will demand €80 million to sell Alexander-Arnold

While Liverpool have no interest in selling Alexander-Arnold and will be keen to tie him down to a new deal, they will still keep their options open. This is the second phase of the transfer saga, as the club will not stand in his way should the player decide not to renew his deal at the club.

Hence, rather than let Trent Alexander-Arnold leave as a free agent next summer, Liverpool will demand an €80 million fee to sell Alexander-Arnold. That price point could put off Real Madrid, who are seemingly the only side right now showing concrete interest in the 25-year-old.
