Al-Ittihad eyeing Ederson Moraes swoop, Manchester City want new contract

Al-Ittihad entered the race to sign Ederson Moraes after Al-Nassr pulled out of the pursuit of the £40m-rated Manchester City mainstay.

According to HITC, Saudi Interest in Ederson Moares refused to go away, as Ittihad has expressed an interest in the goalkeeper. The Manchester City mainstay still has his future on uncertain terms, with the club’s asking price proving to be a stumbling block for this transfer to conclude.

Al-Ittihad keen on Ederson Moraes

Earlier in June, rumours began to circulate about a potential exit for Ederson Moares from Manchester City. Some feel the goalkeeper might have finished his cycle at the club and now wants to make the best of his career. A player of his quality, relatively young for a stopper, still has a huge market, with Saudi Arabia looking like the ideal destination.

Some stories had insisted Ederson had already informed the club of his decision to leave, but Manchester City is an entity that will not block a player’s transfer. As long as they achieve their target price, the club will allow a departure, as they have shown in the past with numerous other players.

Nassr were keen but hase since abandoned the move owing to Manchester City’s £40 million asking price. The Saudi side were only prepared to pay £25 million, which is way of. Manchester City’s valuation of the Brazilian international. The report also claims Al-Nassr had offered the Brazilian asalaryy package that would have made him thehighest-paidd player on the planet.

Al-Ittihad has now entered the running and is looking to take advantage of the situation after Al-Nassr pulled out of the running. For them to succeed, Al-Ittihad needs to offer a package close to what Al-Nassr had in mind for Ederson and the asking price for the £40m-rated Manchester City mainstay.

Will Manchester City sell Ederson?

In the past, the club did not blocked sales of players like Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, or Cole Palmer. If they get the £40 million for the player, they will sell Ederson in this window. However, if the chance arises to keep him, they are even willing to offer a new deal

However, should Al-Ittihad meet Manchester City’s demands, a deal is more likely to materialise in this window. Hence, Pep Guardiola’s side are likely to offload the keeper rather than keep a disgruntled player at the club despite his apparent quality.
