Al-Nassr abandon move for Ederson Moraes after rejected bid

Al-Nassr have taken a back seat in their pursuit of Manchester City star goalkeeper Ederson Moraes after failing with a €30 million bid.

According to Rudy Galetti, Ederson Moraes’ potential transfer to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr has collapsed after their €30m bid was rejected by Manchester City. While the player had already agreed personal terms with the club from the Middle East, they have failed to strike a deal with the Premier League champions and have now withdrawn from the race.

Ederson joined Pep Guardiola’s team back in the summer of 2017 after making a name for himself at Benfica. He has been integral to all the success they have had in recent years. He was once again exceptional last season as City became the first team to win the Premier League four years in a row.

Ederson seeks a new challenge

The 30-year-old is one of the pillars of the City team and they are keen on extending his stay at the club. But, their number one has already rejected multiple renewal offers. While City are trying to make one last attempt to extend his stay at the club, his future remains uncertain.

Multiple reports have suggested that he wants to try a new adventure away from Manchester amidst interest in his services from the Saudi Pro League. Al-Nassr are keen on his signature as they look to reinforce their squad after finishing second in the league last time out.

Al-Nassr’s final offer rejected, move collapses

The Cristiano Ronaldo-led team have reportedly offered him a massive deal which will make him the highest-paid goalkeeper on the planet. The player seems quite interested in joining his former City teammate Aymeric Laporte at Al-Nassr and he had already agreed personal terms with them at the beginning of the month.

After striking a deal with Ederson, the Middle East club have been in negotiations with City for weeks now. They submitted their final offer worth €30 million for the Brazilian international last Friday. But, it has been turned down by the English giants following which Al-Nassr have withdrawn from the race. As per Galetti, the transfer is now off.
