Liverpool are reportedly confident about securing the services of Chelsea and Manchester United defensive target Marc Guehi.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool are keen on reinforcing their defence ahead of next season and they have their eyes set on Marc Guehi who has had an exceptional rise at Crystal Palace. The Reds are quite confident about bringing him to Anfield this summer amidst interest from former club Chelsea and Manchester United.
Guehi made the move from Chelsea to Crystal Palace back in 2021 in search of regular first-team action. The transfer has done wonders for him as he has established himself in the heart of the Eagles’ defence and has also managed to break into Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
The 24-year-old had an impressive 2023/24 season, and he carried the form into the European Championship. The English international was one of the standout performers for his nation and with the tournament now over, his future has become the biggest talking point.
Crystal Palace want to keep hold of their star defender as their manager Oliver Glasner has big plans heading into his first full season in charge. The Eagles have placed a massive £65 million price tag on the young centre-back. But, the amount of interest in Marc Guehi suggests they will find it difficult to keep hold of him.

Guehi’s former club Chelsea have a long-standing interest in the defender. While they have enough depth at the back, the Blues seek more quality. And given how consistent Guehi has been in the Premier League, they feel he could do wonders for them.
Manchester United are also in the mix as they look to reinforce their backline after struggling with injuries at the back last season. With Raphael Varane no longer at the club and the future of a few more of their defenders uncertain, they are planning a major overhaul, and Marc Guehi is quite high on their wishlist.

While Chelsea and Manchester United are both keen on his services, Liverpool are extremely confident about striking a deal for the 24-year-old. The Reds are looking to reinforce their backline on a priority basis. They see Marc Guehi as a long-term replacement for Joel Matip and have already held talks with Crystal Palace regarding a potential deal.
The Reds know exactly what needs to be done to bring Guehi to Anfield this summer. Arne Slot and his team are quite confident because they believe the English centre-back is keen on joining them and has given signs that he would accept a switch to the Merseyside club. While the asking price is quite high, Liverpool seem willing to spend a fortune to bring him to the club.
