Saudi Pro League offer £25 million to sign Ederson Moraes

Manchester City have received an offer worth £25 million from the Saudi Pro League for the services of their number one Ederson Moraes.

The Saudi Pro League are expected to continue the football revolution this summer by targeting top European stars once again, following the high-profile signings of several major names last summer. They seem keen on bringing Manchester City mainstay Ederson Moraes to the Middle East and according to a report from HITC, the Saudi Pro League have already submitted an offer of £25 million for his services.

Ederson has been the go-to man for Manchester City in goal since joining them from Benfica back in the summer of 2017. He has been a very important player for Pep Guardiola’s team, who have dominated the Premier League and have also won the Champions League.

The Brazilian international had another sensational season with Manchester City last time out as they made it four league titles in a row. The 30-year-old had 16 clean sheets in total, with 13 of them coming in the English top flight.

Manchester City were keen on handing Ederson Moraes a new deal, but talks over an extension have stalled. While he still has two years left on his deal at the English club, the former Benfica goalkeeper seems ready for a new challenge away from the Etihad Stadium.

Ederson to join Saudi Pro League?

There is a significant amount of interest in his services from the Middle East. The Saudi Pro League want to make him a part of their transformed league which is home to some of the biggest stars in the world. As per the report, Ederson Moraes seems interested in following in the footsteps of former teammates Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte who have already moved to the country.

They are ready to make the Brazilian international the highest-paid goalkeeper on the planet by offering him a package worth around £500,000-a-week. Ederson already seems keen on making the move, and Manchester City have also received an offer worth £25 million.

While Guardiola’s team would ideally want £30 million for their number one, they do not intend on standing in the way of a player who wants to leave. They allowed their stars to make the move to the Middle East last summer and similar could happen this time out with Ederson. He will most likely link up with Laporte at Al-Nassr a team that also has Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane among other stars.
