Liverpool make contact with Andriy Lunin

Liverpool have reportedly contacted Andriy Lunin’s camp about a potential summer move to Anfield. The keeper is still undecided about his future.

According to Sport via Sport Witness, Liverpool have set sights on Andriy Lunin over a move this summer, with the club in contact with the 25-year-old’s camp. The Ukranian continues to evaluate his future, as he also has a contract offer from Real Madrid, as he enters the final year of his deal with the Champions League holders.

Andriy Lunin on Liverpool’s radar

Liverpool are keeping most of their transfer plans under wraps as the next phase of the transfer window might answer a few questions. One of the big doubts has surfaced in the form of their goalkeeping situation, with some fans concerned about Alisson Becker’s future.

Caoimhin Kelleher looks destined to leave, so it’s natural that the club find a solid replacement for the Irish international. However, there are lingering doubts over Alisson, who may have the interest of Saudi clubs, although the message so far is that he wants to stay put at Anfield.

Nevertheless, those links persist, as Liverpool has been linked with another goalkeeper. In recent times, names like Bento and Justin Bijlow have fallen on their radar, and Andriy Lunin is the latest to be linked with Liverpool.

The 25-year-old has ambitions to become a No.1 somewhere, and with Liverpool in contact with his camp, these links might have some legs. The Ujkranian has entered the final year of his deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, and he will look to resolve his future in the coming period, either by leaving or signing on fresh terms.

Real Madrid want Andriy Lunin stay

Between Thibaut Courtois’ injury and loan signing Kepa Arrizabalaga’s dismal form, the 25-year-old Lunin experienced a breakthrough year at Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti trusts the player now, as the club has reportedly made a contract offer to extend his stay beyond the end of next season.

Lunin has ambitions to play regularly as a No.1, and at Madrid, he will start the new season as Courtois’ understudy. Should an opportunity arrive from another big club in the Champions League, he might consider it if he can become their No.1.
