Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of Portuguese international Francisco Conceicao who impressed at Euro 2024.
According to Record via SportWitness, Chelsea are interested in the services of Francisco Conceicao and they could soon make a move for his services. The Portuguese sensation does have a bargain release clause in his contract but with it set to increase next week, there has been a lot of talk about the FC Porto sensation’s future.
Conceicao came up the ranks at Porto before securing a permanent move to Ajax in the summer of 2022. A year later he returned to his former club on loan and his move to the Portuguese outfit has now become permanent. However, there is a significant amount of interest in his services from top clubs and it is not yet certain if he will continue with the Dragons next season.
The 21-year-old right-winger had an impressive season last time out as he scored eight goals and bagged eight assists in his 43 outings. He was a part of the Portugal squad for Euro 2024 and even scored a late winner in their opening group game.
His performances over the last 12 months have resulted in a significant amount of interest from across Europe. While multiple top clubs have been monitoring his situation, Chelsea seem to be very attentive and they could make a move for him as per the report.
Chelsea interested in Conceicao
The London club’s project revolves around signing the top young stars from across Europe. They are looking to add more depth on the flanks and the Porto star could be a great acquisition for them. The Blues haven’t made any moves yet but they soon could because his release clause is all set to increase.
The former Ajax forward currently has a €30m release clause in his contract but it is all set to rise to €45 million from Monday (15th July). As a result, there are high chance that an interested club could make a move this week and Chelsea could be one of them.
Conceicao’s agent Jorge Mendes is currently at work to see where his client will play next season as the player is yet to rejoin Porto for the pre-season. Once he is back, the 21-year-old is expected to talk to the club president about his intentions.
