Teun Koopmeiners committed to €4.5 million-a-year Juventus deal move amid Liverpool links

Liverpool are set to miss out on Teun Koopmeiners as the Dutch midfielder has chosen Juventus as his ideal destination.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Liverpool could lose out in the race for Teun Koopmeiners as the midfielder may have committed to sign for Juventus. The report suggests the Bianconeri have personal terms in place for the Atalanta star, and Arne Slot’s call to the Dutchman could not make a difference.

Liverpool out of Teun Koopmeiners chase?

Liverpool are looking for a new midfielder who can be versatile and give new boss Arne Slot a different option. The club are extremely happy with Alexis Mac Allister but feel they can utilise the Argentine differently from the last season, where he predominantly played as a holding midfielder.

They are clearly in the market for a new defensive midfielder and failed with a late move for Mats Weiffer, who has since joined Brighton & Hove Albion. They are also interested in Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta, with many having expected the Reds to make their move for the Dutchman.

Some reports suggested Liverpool had re-taken the lead in the chase for Koopmeiners, although they have suffered a blow in the pursuit amid recent developments. A reported call from Arne Slot to his compatriot revealed that the €60 million-rated Europa League winner has his heart set on a move to Juventus.

The report also added that Juventus have reached an agreement on personal terms with the midfielder, who will sign a long-term contract worth €4.5 million a season plus bonuses. Liverpool might have lost out in the Koopmeiners race, but they still retain an interest in fellow teammate Ederson, who seems to fit their need for a holding midfielder.

Atalanta will demand €60 million

Juventus might be in pole position for Koopmeiners, but they have yet to agree on a fee for the €60 million-rated Europa League winner. Atalanta are demanding at least €60 million to sell the Dutchman, with the Bianconeri only reportedly offering €40 million plus another €5 million in bonuses.

Atalanta have already rejected a €47 million bid from Napoli, which will set the standards for the midfielder’s signature. Overall, there is a belief that €50 million plus bonuses could seal the deal for Koopmeiners, with Juventus clearly the favourites to win the race for the Dutchman.
