Juventus considering Benoit Badiashile swoop

Juventus are interested in acquiring the services of Chelsea centre-back Benoit Badiashile as they look to reinforce their backline.

According to a report from Calciomercato.it, Juventus have reignited their interest in Benoit Badiashile and are considering making a move for the Chelsea defensive sensation. The Old Lady want to add more quality to their backline, and they feel the French centre-back could help their cause. The Blues value him at around €35 million.

Badiashile came up the ranks at AS Monaco, and he was promoted to their first team back in the summer of 2019. On the back of his impressive rise at the French club and his consistent performances for their first team, Chelsea forked out a significant fee to bring him to Stamford Bridge in the winter of 2023.

The move to Stamford Bridge has not really worked out for the French international as he has struggled with injuries and has not been able to establish himself in their first team. Last season, he could only feature in 22 matches and was on the pitch for a total of just 1,666 minutes.

Juventus interested in signing Badiashile

While Benoit Badiahile’s contract with the London club runs until the summer of 2030, his future at the club looks uncertain. Juventus are one of the clubs interested in the 23-year-old. The Old Lady were keen on signing him during his days at AS Monaco.

The Serie A giants might have failed to strike a deal with him back in the day but look all set to reignite their interest this time around. While the Turin-based club have quite a few options at the back, Thiago Motta wants to add more quality, and Badiashile could be a great acquisition for them amidst Gleison Bremer’s uncertain future.

Badiashile’s current situation does suggest that Juventus have an opportunity to sign him. But the final decision will be of Enzo Maresca, who has recently taken charge as Chelsea’s new boss. If he feels the 23-year-old is not a part of their plans, the Blues could look to sanction his departure. Even they are unlikely to let him leave on the cheap and they value him at around €35 million which could be a problem for the Italian giants given their financial situation.
