Al-Nassr agree personal terms with Ederson Moraes, in talks to sign Alisson Becker

Ederson Moraes has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Al-Nassr, but the Saudi Pro League giants prefer a move for Alisson Becker.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Ederson Moraes is a step closer to joining Al-Nassr in the summer transfer window, but Alisson Becker is the club’s top target. Personal terms will not be an issue, although Manchester City’s asking price of €50 million poses a problem. Meanwhile, the big-spending Saudi Pro League giants are in talks to sign Alisson from Liverpool.

Ederson Moraes, Alisson Becker and their careers so far

Ederson Moraes has been one of the best goalkeepers in the world in the last few years. The Brazilian international rose in prominence during his spell with SL Benfica before joining Manchester City in July 2017. Since then, he has been the undisputed first-choice shot-stopper for the Premier League champions.

The 30-year-old has won several trophies with Manchester City, including the treble in the 2022/23 season. Ederson has turned out nearly 350 times thus far for the Citizens, keeping 155 clean sheets while conceding 257 goals. However, the experienced goalkeeper’s long-term future at Manchester City has been uncertain heading into the summer transfer window.

As for Alisson Becker, he has been the best goalkeeper in the world for nearly half a decade. The Brazilian international has been with Liverpool since July 2018 and has been the first-choice goalkeeper for his club and country for several years. The 31-year-old has turned out over 250 times thus far for Liverpool, keeping 114 clean sheets and conceding 236 goals.

Saudi Pro League beckons?

Like Ederson at Manchester City, Alisson faces an uncertain future at Liverpool FC. Widespread reports have suggested that Ederson is open to sealing a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League in the summer transfer window. The latest update has revealed that personal terms are sorted between the two parties.

However, Manchester City’s asking price of €50 million poses a problem for Al-Nassr. In addition, the big-spending Saudi Pro League giants prefer a move for Alisson Becker and remain in talks to sign him. However, the Liverpool mainstay has shown no inclination to join Al-Nassr in the summer transfer window.

So, pursuing Ederson’s signature makes sense for Al-Nassr. However, it will be interesting to see if the big-spending Saudi Pro League giants are ready to pay €50 million to sign Ederson, with a move for Alisson unlikely to see the light of day.
