Liverpool are interested in the services of Juventus forward Federico Chiesa amidst interest from rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.
According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport via Paisley Gates, Liverpool have registered their interest in bringing Federico Chiesa to Anfield. The Reds want to reinforce their attack and with his future at Juventus uncertain, they are looking to make the best out of the situation.
Chiesa arrived at the Turin-based club towards the end of 2020 after making a name for himself at Fiorentina. While it was an initial loan deal, it became permanent in the summer of 2022. He was one of the best young players in Italy when he joined Juventus but unfortunately, things haven’t gone according to plan for him.
Chiesa to leave Juventus?
He has struggled with injuries and hasn’t been able to return to his best after overcoming a serious knee problem. Reports suggest that Juventus’ new boss Thiago Motta does feel Chiesa would fit well in his system. As a result, the Old Lady are considering cashing in on him with just 12 months left on his deal.
Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with the Juventus outcast. Both clubs are looking to strengthen their flanks because of different reasons. With Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood unlikely to have a future at Old Trafford, Chiesa could be an ideal sign to ensure they have enough quality in the final third.
Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk haven’t been able to perform consistently for the Blues and they are looking for someone who can strengthen the left flank as they look to bounce back after a disappointing season last time out.
Liverpool interested in Chiesa’s signature
Chelsea and United are both keen on signing the 26-year-old Italian winger but they will face competition from Liverpool who have registered their interest in Chiesa’s services. Arne Slot seems interested in adding more firepower to his attack.
The Reds have been monitoring the former Fiorentina forward for a while now and could look to take advantage of the fact that Juventus are willing to sanction his departure for a fee of around €30-€40 million. With Luis Diaz’s future at the club uncertain, Chiesa could be an interesting option for them on the left flank given his ability to create chances for those around and be a constant threat going forward.
