Chelsea, Newcastle United and Aston Villa keen on Strahinja Pavlovic

A host of Premier League sides are keen on Strahinja Pavlovic, and RB Salzburg is set to profit greatly from the sale.

According to HITC, Strahinja Pavlovic is a name high on many Premier League team lists, with Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Chelsea among those keen. His club, RB Salzburg, could be open to a sale and would consider the prospect of raking in high profits from his transfer.

Premier League sides tracking Strahinja Pavlovic

Stahinja Pavlovic has been a good performer for RB Salzburg and has put himself on the transfer market with his starting role with Serbia at the Euros. While he may not be the most glamorous defender, many sides are looking at him as a big squad option in what could be a long season.

His club, RB Salzburg, is known to make good sales and could ponder selling the defender for around £25 million. He cost them only £6 million from Monaco, and should they manage to offload the £25 million-rated defender, then Salzburg will turn in a good enough profit.

Aston Villa are keen, with Unai Emery looking to shore up the left side of his central defensive positions. Pau Torres remains his first choice in that role, as the club might look at Pavlovic as a replacement for Clement Lenglet, who departed the club following the season’s end.

Chelsea are also keen, as they have been in the market for a new left-sided centre-back to add cover to their existing options. They wanted Riccardo Calafiori, but Arsenal are set to beat them for the Italian international, Hence, for £25 million, Pavlovic might be seen as a cheaper alternative to the Bologna star and one who fits their system of buying young profiles.

Newcastle United and Wolves are keen on Pavlovic

The report does name Newcastle United, although the Magpies have already agreed on a move for free agent Lloyd Kelly. They might be open to bringing another left-footed centre-back, depending on how Sven Botman’s return timeline looks.

Wolves, on the other hand, had a clear need for a new centre-back, given West Ham is set to sign Max Kilman in a deal worth £40 million. Overall, Pavlovic will have plenty of opportunities this summer to join a Premier League side, and much will depend on what he wants from his next club.
