Bournemouth express interest in Fran Garcia

Premier League club Bournemouth have reportedly registered their interest in 24-year-old Real Madrid defender Fran Garcia.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Fran Garcia is the subject of interest from Bournemouth. The 24-year-old faces an uncertain future at Real Madrid and has emerged as a target for the Premier League club. And the Cherries have expressed their interest in the struggling defender.

Fran Garcia and his Real Madrid struggles

Fran Garcia would have hoped for a dream return to Real Madrid when Los Blancos re-signed him from Rayo Vallecano last summer. A native of Bolanos de Calatrava, the Spaniard graduated from the youth division at Real Madrid but found a stable footing during his spell with Rayo Vallecano.

However, the 24-year-old was in and out of the Real Madrid starting lineup throughout the 2023/24 season and managed only 1,688 minutes of game time across 31 appearances in all competitions while chipping in with one goal and six assists. So, it is hardly surprising that Garcia faces an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu heading into the summer transfer window.

Recent reports have claimed that the Merengues are ready to part ways with the Spanish defender in the summer transfer window. Garcia does not have a shortage of suitors pursuing his signature, with Bournemouth expressing an interest in him.

Premier League adventure beckons?

Bournemouth’s interest in Fran Garcia is understandable. The Cherries are in a spot of bother over the long-term future of Milos Kerkez, with the Hungarian international emerging as a target for high-profile Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United. So, it behoves Bournemouth to scour the market for a left-back heading into the summer transfer window.

Garcia has thus emerged as a viable target for Bournemouth, with the Premier League outfit registering an interest in the Spaniard. With Real Madrid ready to cash in on the 24-year-old defender, a new adventure in the Premier League might be on the cards.

However, Garcia is reportedly a target for other clubs across Europe, including Borussia Dortmund. So, Bournemouth must step up the interest in the Spanish defender to bring him to the Premier League from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
