Al-Nassr stepping up interest in Ederson Moraes, player open to move

Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr are reportedly interested in signing 30-year-old Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes.

According to reputed Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr are lining up a move for 30-year-old Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes. A separate update by French journalist Santi Aouna has revealed that the experienced shot-stopper is open to the transfer.

Saudi Arabian clubs have done well to sign a number of top class players in recent years, and it is no surprise that they are looking to sign the Manchester City star. Ederson and is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for them. He has proven himself in European football with Manchester City and he has won multiple major trophies with them.

The 30-year-old might feel that this is the right time for him to try out a new challenge, and moving to Saudi Arabia could be an exciting opportunity for him. The Saudi giants will be able to offer him a lucrative contract as well, and that could prove to be vital for the player at this stage of his career. The Manchester City mainstay is unlikely to earn that kind of money in Europe.

Will Manchester City let Ederson leave?

It remains to be seen whether Manchester City are willing to sanction his departure in the coming weeks. Ederson is undoubtedly the best goalkeeper at the club, and his departure would weaken them. They will need to sign out of quality replacement before letting the Brazilian international leave the club.

The 30-year-old is the world-class player who will add great commercial appeal to the Saudi league if he moves to Al-Nassr. It remains to be seen whether the Saudi Arabian club come forward with an official proposal to sign the goalkeeper in the next few days.

The fact that the Brazilian international is open to a move to Saudi Arabia will come as a major boost for them, and it will certainly encourage them to put in and offer for him. Manchester City have Stefan Ortega as the backup goalkeeper at their disposal, but they cannot hope to head into the new season with him as the first-choice goalkeeper at the club.
