Borussia Dortmund considering Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg swoop

Borussia Dortmund are considering a move for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as an alternative to Pascal Gross, with the Tottenham star ready to leave.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund have added Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to their list of midfield targets. The UCL finalists are eager to bolster their central areas, with the 28-year-old Tottenham player likely to become a big option should they fail in pursuit of Brighton’s Pascal Gross.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on Borussia Dortmund’s radar

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will take some time to reflect on Denmark’s exit from the Euros at the hands of Germany and might then evaluate his options ahead. The Danish midfielder wants to leave Tottenham in the summer after being downgraded in his role under Ange Postecoglou last season.

The 28-year-old Tottenham player was the subject of transfer speculation last summer and then in January, although Spurs held on to his services, especially in the winter window. They might have to sell him in this window, as the player wants to re-establish himself as an important player once again.

Atletico Madrid and Lyon were considered big suitors for the midfielder, and now Borussia Dortmund have him on their midfield shortlist. The UCL finalists are eager to recruit someone in the central zones and view Hojbjerg as a big alternative to German international and Brighton star Pascal Gross.

Hojbjerg might be a good option for them to consider, given that the midfielder is at the peak of his powers and, despite his limited starts, remained a consistent presence for Postecoglou last season. However, Dortmund might have to make a compelling offer to the 28-year-old Tottenham player, considering that many other teams are angling for a move for him.

Hojbjerg has big suitors

Fulham are keen on Hojbjerg and probably offer him the best chance to stay in the Premier League and London. However, the midfielder might consider moving abroad after many years in England, as AC Milan are one of the keener sides

Galatasaray are also an option, with the Turkish side chasing him since January, although they might lose out to some of their more illustrious European colleagues. Overall, Hojbjerg will have no shortage of options ahead of the summer, as he seems destined to quit Tottenham at all costs.
