AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Romelu Lukaku and Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea this summer.
According to the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, Serie A club AC Milan have now opened direct talks with Chelsea over a double deal for Romelu Lukaku and Carney Chukwumeka in the summer transfer window.
Lukaku was on loan at AS Roma last season and he scored 21 goals in all competitions. He was quite impressive in Serie A, and it is no surprise that AC Milan are looking to sign the Belgian striker. He will look to leave Chelsea permanently, and moving to AC Milan could be ideal for him.
The Serie A giants will be able to offer him regular game time, and he would get to sort out his long-term future and focus on his football once again. Lukaku will not want to continue at Chelsea, and he does not have a feature at the London club either.
It would be ideal for all parties to go their separate ways, and the Blues will look to sell him permanently. Chelsea will look to recoup substantial amount of money for the 31-year-old, and it remains to be seen whether they can secure or agreement with AC Milan.
The Rossoneri need to add more quality and depth to their attack. Signing a player like Lukaku would be ideal for them. The Belgian has proven himself in Italian football over the years, and he would be the ideal acquisition. The veteran striker could hit the ground running, and he transform them in the final third.
Chelsea might regret letting Chukwuemeka leave
Chukwuemeka is highly rated at Chelsea, and the 20-year-old would be a long term acquisition for AC Milan if they can get the deal. The Serie A giants are vying for his signature and want to bolster their midfield with his acquisition.
The Blues will not be able to provide him with regular opportunities next season, and it makes sense for them to cash in on the player. It will be interesting to see if AC Milan can convince the midfielder to join them with promise of ample first-team action.
The 20-year-old could develop into a key player for the Italian club with the right guidance. Chelsea could end up regretting the decision to let him leave if he manages to fulfil his potential in the coming seasons.
