Chelsea set to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are all set to sign Leicester City midfield star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in a deal worth £30 million.

According to David Ornstein, Chelsea have agreed terms with Leicester City to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. The Blues were involved in talks with the Foxes for the services of the English midfielder for a while now, and they have finally managed to strike a deal with them.

Dewsbury-Hall came up the ranks at Leicester City, and he has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2021. He was gone from strength to strength over the years, and the 25-year-old had a sensational season last time out under the guidance of Enzo Maresca.

The English midfielder played a big role in their immediate return to the Premier League. He was involved in 44 Championship games last season and contributed towards 26 goals (12 goals, 14 assists). In addition, he provided an assist in the FA Cup. He was a go-to man for Maresca in the centre of the park as he used him in different roles.

The Italian manager has now taken over at Chelsea as their new boss, and he is keen on having Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall at his disposal. Maresca wants to make the necessary changes to ensure they can bounce back next season, and he feels reuniting with the Leicester graduate will be the right move for the team.

Chelsea strike a deal for Dewsbury-Hall

The Blues had already agreed personal terms with the Englishman as he was keen on making the switch. Once they had a green light from the player, the West London club shifted their focus towards agreeing terms with Leicester.

There was interest from other clubs who were ready to meet the demands of the Foxes. But Chelsea have managed to win the race for his signature. After being involved in talks with Leicester for a long while, the Blues have managed to agree terms with them. They will fork out £30 million to add Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to their squad.

Dewsbury-Hall is expected to undergo his medical as a Chelsea player soon. Post that, he will be penning down a six-year-long deal with the London club. He is considered to be a great addition to their squad as his arrival will help Maresca better execute his style of play at the club.
