Chelsea prepared to offer Trevoh Chalobah in deal to sign Murillo

Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Trevoh Chalobah in a part exchange deal to sign Nottingham Forest defensive sensation Murillo.

According to a report from The Guardian, Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of Murillo on the back of his impressive debut season in the Premier League. They are in talks with Nottingham Forest regarding a potential transfer and are prepared to offer their academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah as a part of the deal.

After coming up the ranks at Corinthians and making a name for himself while playing for their first team, Murillo joined the Tricky Trees last summer. He was involved in 36 matches throughout the season and ended up playing a big part in their survival in the English top flight.

Enzo Maresca wants Murillo in his squad

The Brazilian defender’s impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, and clubs are ready to knock on Nottingham Forest’s door for his signature. Murillo finds himself on the wishlist of Chelsea as Enzo Maresca looks to further strengthen his defence despite having six centre-backs in his squad.

The Blues have been focused on signing young players who can help them in the long run and the 21-year-old seems to be an ideal fit for them. He has already proven himself in the Premier League and will only get better with time.

Chelsea ready to offer Chalobah to sign Murillo

Chelsea have already made initial enquiries about the Brazilian defender who still has four years left on his deal at Nottingham. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team value him at £70 million and to make things easier for themselves, the West London club are willing to offer Trevoh Chalobah as a part of the deal.

The Blues already have enough depth at the back and having signed Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer, their academy graduate has gone further down the pecking order. While his contract runs until 2028, the Blues are ready to cash in on him as they look to balance their books. Since Chalobah is a homegrown player, money raised from his departure will result in pure profit.

While Chelsea are ready to sell the English defender, it remains to be seen if he would like to join Nottingham Forest. The player reportedly wants to join a club that is competing in Europe and since the Tricky Trees battled relegation last season, things do not really look that bright for the Blues, who hope to lower the £70 million asking price of Murillo by including Chalobah in a potential deal.
