Chelsea agree personal terms with Aaron Anselmino

Chelsea and Aaron Anselmino have an agreement on personal terms, with the West London club closing in on signing him from Boca Juniors.

According to Graeme Bailey on HITC, Aaron Anselmino is closing in on joining Chelsea in the summer transfer window. The 19-year-old defensive sensation has agreed on personal terms with the West London club. Meanwhile, the Boca Juniors wonderkid is also a target for Manchester United, with the Red Devils losing the race to secure his services.

The rise of Aaron Anselmino

Aaron Anselmino has become the talk of the town in his homeland since graduating from the academy to the first-team squad at Boca Juniors. A native of Bernardo Larroudé, he spent the early years at Juventud Unida and Sportivo Realico before joining Boca Juniors as a 12-year-old.

The 19-year-old made his first-team debut in June 2023, hours after signing a professional contract with Boca Juniors. Anselmino has turned out ten times thus far for Los Xeneizes, chipping in with one goal. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe.

Premier League bigwigs, in particular, are keen on signing the Argentine defensive sensation in the summer transfer window. Chelsea and Manchester United have been vying for Aaron Anselmino’s signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Premier League move on the horizon

Manchester United’s interest in Aaron Anselmino is understandable. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window after losing Raphael Varane as a free agent. The Argentine wonderkid has thus emerged as a viable target for Manchester United.

However, they are losing the race to sign the 19-year-old wonderkid, with Chelsea closing in on securing Aaron Anselmino’s services in the summer transfer window. The Blues have already signed one defender this summer but are active in the market for more. And they have an agreement on personal terms with the teenage sensation.

With personal terms not an issue, a complete agreement is a matter of time. So, Manchester United must look elsewhere for defensive reinforcement, with Anselmino on the verge of joining Chelsea from Boca Juniors in the summer transfer window.
