Newly-promoted La Liga club Real Valladolid will reportedly look to sign 22-year-old Brazilian forward Reinier Jesus from Real Madrid this summer.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Reinier Jesus is the subject of interest from Real Valladolid. The newly-promoted La Liga club will look to bolster the offensive department in the summer transfer window. The 22-year-old forgotten Real Madrid forward has thus emerged as a viable target.
Reinier Jesus and his Real Madrid struggles
Reinier Jesus has failed to make his mark since joining Real Madrid from Flamengo in January 2020. A native of Vasco da Gama, he spent his formative years with four clubs in his homeland before graduating from the youth division at Flamengo. The youngster had a lot of hype and fanfare surrounding him when he arrived in Spain.
The 22-year-old had drawn comparisons with Kaka before joining Real Madrid. However, he has yet to make his first-team debut for Real Madrid, spending the last four years away from Real Madrid on three loan spells. However, the stints with Borussia Dortmund and Girona did not yield the desired results.
The Brazilian prospect joined Frosinone on a season-long loan deal, and he enjoyed a much better campaign with the Serie A club. The Real Madrid loanee turned out 23 times for the Canaries, chipping in with three goals and two assists.
What next?
Despite a decent 2023/24 campaign with Frosinone, Reinier Jesus does not feature in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans for the 2024/25 season. So, another departure is on the cards heading into the summer transfer window, although a permanent exit is not on the cards for the forgotten Real Madrid forward.
A move across La Liga is in the pipeline for the Brazilian prospect, with newly promoted club Real Valladolid keen on securing his services. Ronaldo’s excellent relations with Florentino Perez will likely pave the way for another season-long loan deal, with Reinier’s spell in La Liga resuming after an unsatisfactory stint with Girona.
Real Madrid will hope the 22-year-old forgotten forward enjoys an excellent 2023/24 season if Real Valladolid can convince him to join the club in the summer transfer window. It will be interesting to see where the player plies his trade in the 2024/25 campaign.
