Chelsea willing to step up contacts to sign Aaron Anselmino

Chelsea are looking to step up their interest in the services of Argentine defensive sensation Aaron Anselmino.

According to a report from Calciomercato, Chelsea are keen on acquiring the services of Aaron Anselmino and they have intensified contacts with the player’s entourage to make things happen. The teenage defensive sensation has had an impressive rise and there are quite a few clubs pushing for his signature.

Anselmino’s rise, AC Milan’s interest

Anselmino has come up the ranks at Boca Juniors. He has had a sensational rise to the top and was promoted to their first team at the start of the year. While he has only just gotten started at the senior level, his performances attracted a lot of interest and clubs have been following his progress for a while now.

While the 19-year-old prefers playing in the heart of the defence, he can also feature as a defensive midfielder. His impressive rise and huge potential are what attract interest from the very best clubs.

Anselmino still has four years left on the deal that he penned down at the start of the year but it seems he could be on the move in the summer. AC Milan are one of the clubs that have been linked with Boca Junior defender but it seems, the Italian giants are behind Premier League giants Chelsea.

Chelsea make offer for Anselmino

The Blues’ new project revolves around young players with huge potential. They are always on the lookout for players who can help them in the long run and they feel the Argentine centre-back is one of them.

While they have signed Tosin Adarabioyo to help cope with the absence of Thiago Silva, their new manager Enzo Maresca is keen on adding more depth at the back because of the inconsistent performances of a few of their young defenders last season.

They feel Anselmino’s arrival could provide the needed depth. As a result, the Blues are all set to make an offer for the 19-year-old after having enquired about him in the recent past. They have already intensified contacts with the player’s representatives and their next big move should arrive soon.
