Chelsea keen on Archie Brown, will send him to RC Strasbourg

Chelsea are hoping to get a deal done for English left-back Archie Brow, who could be made available for €8 million from CAA Gent.

According to Sacha Travolieri, Chelsea are eager to sign Archie Brown this summer from CAA Gent and could loan him straightway to sister club Strasbourg. The Blues are in the =market for exciting young talents and could see the English left-back as a shrewd investment into the future.

Chelsea keen on Archie Brown

Chelsea is always interested in young, prodigious talents from around the world and will show an interest in bringing players they think might suit them, even if it is in the future. They have made some heavy investments in players they do not need immediately, and this is also because they are eager to form a multi-club model.

Strasbourg, being their sister club owned by BlueCo, Chelsea is likely to bring more young players from around the world and loan them straight to the French side to aid their development. They have another player in their minds, with English left-back Archie Brown, who has attracted interest from Premier League sides

The full-back who came through the ranks at Derby County has taken an unusual route so far in his career by going to Switzerland and then Belgium. He arrived at CAA Gent last season in a €4 million deal, and the Belgian side could soon double their investment within a year as Chelsea will have to pay €8 million for the left0-back, as the Blues have scouted him for a good period

That sum may not prove too much for the Blues to think about, as they will immediately loan the €8 million-rated prodigy to Strasbourg. The move will be seen as a development option for players like the English left-back, as they will then manage to sign players even if they do not need them for Chelsea’s first-team plans immediately basis.

Chelsea’s transfer plans in brief

Chelsea is looking increasingly likely to bring more young and emerging stars to their squad and stick with the plan the new owners brought in with them two years ago. As for their need to improve their current first team, the Blues need to strengthen in a few areas, including a striker.

A new winger might also be needed, with Michael Olise their preferred target, while a new defender should also be expected to arrive. They were linked with a new goalkeeper, but new manager Enzo Maresca has reportedly insisted on starting the new season with the troubled Robert Sanchez as his first choice.
