Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian successfully undergoes his Chelsea medical, will join the Blues in 2025.
According to Rudy Galetti, Estevao Willian’s transfer to Chelsea is expected to be made official soon. All parties already had an agreement in place and with the teenage sensation completing his medical, his move to Stamford Bridge is almost a done deal. He will be joining the London club in the summer of 2025 after turning 18.
Estevao has had an exceptional rise at Palmeira. While he was promoted to their first team at the start of the year, his performances at the youth level are quite a clear indicator of the talent he possesses. The right-winger already has six goal contributions in his 21 outings for the first team.
Despite being only 17 and getting limited game time, Estevao has managed to shine. His impressive rise hasn’t gone unnoticed and multiple top clubs have been following him for a long while. There has been interest in him from some of the biggest clubs but Chelsea have managed to beat the competition to his signature.
The Blues’ new project revolves around signing young players with huge potential. They have already added quite a few talented youngsters from South America to their squad and are all set to complete the sign of another sensation in Estevao.
Estevao to Chelsea could be official soon
The London club were scouting him on a consistent basis before getting involved in talks with the Brazilian club. They had already agreed terms with the player last month and managed to strike a deal with Palmeiras worth €65 million.
The Blues will be paying a fixed fee of €40 million along with add-ons worth up to €25 million. Despite all the competition, Chelsea managed to come out on top. Once every detail of the transfer was sorted, the player was supposed to undergo his medical.
Galetti has confirmed that the 17-year-old has passed his medical as a new Chelsea player. An official announcement of the transfer is expected soon. While they already have an agreement with the club and the player, Estevao will have to wait until he turns 18 to make the move to Europe. As a result, he will be joining them in 2025.
