According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Joshua Zirkzee is the subject of interest from Liverpool. Arsenal and Manchester United are also keen on signing the Bologna striker in the summer transfer window. The two Premier League heavyweights have urged the Dutchman, who will cost £34 million, to wait for them, with AC Milan pushing for his signature.
The rise of Joshua Zirkzee at Bologna
Joshua Zirkzee has been blossoming into a well-rounded striker since joining Bologna from Bayern Munich in August 2022. The 23-year-old has not let the setback of not establishing a foothold in the first-team squad at the Bavarian club affect him. Instead, he has gone from strength to strength at the Serie A outfit.
The Dutch striker enjoyed an exceptional 2023/24 campaign with Bologna, contributing to 19 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions. Zirkzee found the back of the net 12 times while providing seven assists. While the output can be better, the youngster’s progress has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.
