Chelsea complete deal to sign Pedro Lima

Chelsea has reportedly reached an agreement with his club, Sport Recife, for Pedro Lima to sign the emerging right back.

According to TNT Sports Brazil,  Chelsea has an agreement with Sport Recife to get an exciting right-back, Pedro Lima. The Brazilian youngster had plenty of suitors ahead of the summer, but it appears the Blues may have got their hands on the Brazilian teenager.

Chelsea agrees on Pedro Lima’s deal

Chelsea has stuck with the ideology of bringing in young talents from across the world for their future project. They have been active in the South American market since the Clearlake Capital, having signed multiple players, especially from Brazil, over the last two years since their takeover.

There have been plenty of Brazilian imports for Chelsea, who have yet to make use of those talents in the right way. While that’s debatable, they have continued to bring players from South America. Now, Chelsea has reached an agreement with Brazilian second-tier club Sport Recife for exciting right back Pedro Lima.

Chelsea had already agreed personal terms with Lima, although they faced massive competition for the teenager. The 17-year-old South American prodigy will turn 18 in July, meaning going by Brazilian league rule, she can still move to a club in Europe, with Chelsea reaching an agreement with Sport Recife about a 10 million deal for the exciting right-back.

As per the report, Chelsea will pay 10 million for the 17-year-old South American prodigy, with the chance of loaning him to the French side of Strasbourg, which is high on their agenda. This is the next step in Chelsea’s multi-club model, as they have already loaned a few players like Angelo Matheus to the club to gain proper experience.

Chelsea beat the competition for Lima

Chelsea may have won the competition for Lima, but they had to compete with a host of clubs for the right back. However, they are clear about his full-nack entry into European football.

There was also reported interest from Real Madrid, but it appears that Chelsea has found an agreement with Sport Recife about the transfer and will see the right-back come to Stamford Bridge in the coming days.
