Bundesliga club FC Heidenheim will demand around €15 million to sell 25-year-old winger Jan-Niklas Beste, a target for Everton.
According to a report by Sport BILD, as relayed by Sport Witness, Jan-Niklas Beste is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on bolstering their attack in the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the FC Heidenheim winger. Meanwhile, the Bundesliga club will demand around €15 million to sell the 25-year-old.
The rise of Jan-Niklas Beste this season
Jan-Niklas Beste has played his part in helping FC Heidenheim establish a foothold in the Bundesliga in the 2023/24 season. A native of Hamm, he spent his formative years in his homeland and has been in Germany throughout his professional career apart from one year, which he spent on loan at FC Emmen.
The 25-year-old has risen in prominence since joining FC Heidenheim from Werder Bremen in July 2022. He has gone from strength to strength in the last two years, although 2023/24 was his best campaign thus far. Beste contributed to 22 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net eight times while providing 14 assists.
Meanwhile, Beste’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Everton vying for the signature of the German winger heading into the summer transfer window.
Premier League beckons?
Everton’s interest in Jan-Niklas Beste is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the situation of Jack Harrison. The Englishman has returned to Leeds United after spending the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Everton.
While the Toffees have been optimistic about sealing a permanent move for Harrison, it has not seen the light of day yet. So, it behoves Everton to identify alternatives, with Beste emerging as a viable target. They now know how much it will take to sign the German winger, with Heidenheim slapping a price tag of €15 million on him.
The Bundesliga club’s valuation is sensible, considering the impact Beste made in the 2023/24 season. He can add goals and creativity to the Everton attack, and it will be interesting to see if they are ready to cough up €15 million to secure his services.
