Arsenal eyeing Bradley Locko swoop

Premier League heavyweights Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old French full-back Bradley Locko from Ligue 1 club Stade Brestois 29.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Bradley Locko is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are scouring the market for a left-back heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney.

Who is Bradley Locko?

Bradley Locko has established himself as one of the best young defensive prospects in his homeland in the last couple of years. A native of Ivry-sur-Seine, he passed through the academies at four clubs before graduating from the youth division at FC Lorient.

The Frenchman rose in prominence during his spell with Stade de Reims but has seen his stock soar since joining Stade Brestois 29. Brest initially signed the 22-year-old on loan in January 2023 before completing a permanent move last summer. Meanwhile, Locko enjoyed an excellent 2023/24 campaign, chipping in with three assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Locko’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with many bigwigs setting their sights on him. Arsenal will be one of the prospective suitors to sign the French defender, who made the Ligue 1 Team of the Year for the 2023/24 season.

Arsenal interested in Locko

Arsenal’s interest in Bradley Locko is understandable. The North London club will likely part ways with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney in the summer transfer window. While Takehiro Tomiyasu, Jakub Kiwior, and Jurrien Timber can reprise the left-back role, the Gunners want a recognised option.

Locko has thus emerged as a viable target for Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta pushing for his addition to the first-team squad in the summer transfer window. However, Arsenal will likely face stiff competition from several other Premier League clubs for the Frenchman’s signature.

The 22-year-old has proven his credentials by making the Ligue 1 Team of the Year at such a young age. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can beat the competition to secure his services in the summer transfer window.
