Manchester United to compete with Tottenham Hotspur for Eberechi Eze

Manchester United are ready to battle it out with Tottenham Hotspur for the services of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.

According to a report from Football Insider, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are both keen on having Eberechi Eze in their squad ahead of next season. The Crystal Palace star’s impressive performances have put him on the radar of both English giants and they are willing to battle it out for him.

Eze made the move to the Eagles in the summer of 2020 from QPR and he hasn’t looked back since. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has gone from strength to strength over the years and he had another impressive season last time out.

While he did miss a few games because of injury, Eze scored 11 goals and bagged six assists in his 31 outings. His consistent display has resulted in him being a part of the England squad for the Euro in Germany which gets underway in a few days.

Tottenham keen on Eberechi Eze

Eze has attracted a lot of attention on the back of his performances. His ability to create chances and score goals along with his versatility are major reasons why multiple top clubs are keen on signing him. Tottenham have a long-standing interest in the 25-year-old.

They feel he is an ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system. The Australian manager seeks more firepower in attack and Eze’s arrival will surely add a lot of quality. His ability to feature on the flanks as well as a number 10 will give them the much-needed depth.

Manchester United to compete with Spurs

While the North London club are keen on striking a deal for him in the upcoming window, Manchester United are very much in the race and are ready to battle it out with Tottenham. The Red Devils are preparing for their first transfer window under the new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Eze is a top target for them.

The 25-year-old ticks a lot of boxes for the new-look recruitment staff at the Manchester-based club. They feel he could be a great addition to their squad. The Palace star could provide cover for Bruno Fernandes and he could even feature on the flanks where they do have quite a few problems with the future of Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Antony not yet certain.
