Fulham and Andre Trindade’s representatives have held talks over a possible move as the Cottagers prepare to sell Joao Palhinha.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Andre Trindade is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are keen on signing a midfielder in the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Joao Palhinha. And they have held talks with the representatives of the 22-year-old Fluminense midfielder.
Who is Andre Trindade?
Andre Trindade has established himself as one of the best midfielders in his homeland since breaking into the first-team squad at Fluminense. A native of Ibirataia, he spent most of his formative years with Fluminense, joining the fabled Brazilian club as a 12-year-old in 2013.
The 22-year-old made his first-team debut for Fluminense midway through the 2020 season. Since then, Andre’s stock has soared, with the player turning out 185 times thus far for the club, chipping in with four goals and three assists. He has also broken into the Brazilian national team, making his senior bow last year.
Meanwhile, Andre’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. High-profile outfits like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Manchester City have shown interest in the youngster. In addition, he is a target for Fulham and Liverpool.
A man in demand
Liverpool showed interest in Andre Trindade throughout 2023 without succeeding in the bid to sign him. The links have faded since the turn of the year, with the Merseyside club prioritising bolstering other areas of the first-team squad. That might clear the way for Fulham to sign the Brazilian international.
Fulham mulled over securing Andre’s services in the winter transfer window. The continued interest in the 22-year-old is understandable, with Joao Palhinha closing in on joining Bayern Munich.
