Antonio Rudiger uninterested in Real Madrid exit amid Saudi links

Antonio Rudiger is not interested in leaving Real Madrid in the summer transfer window amid his links with Saudi Pro League clubs.

According to reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Saudi Pro League clubs are keen on signing Antonio Rudiger in the summer transfer window. However, the 31-year-old defender is not interested in leaving Real Madrid anytime soon as he is happy at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Antonio Rudiger story

Antonio Rudiger has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world since joining Real Madrid from Chelsea in a Bosman move nearly two years ago. The German international had struggled for stability since his days in age-group football. He spent his formative years with six German clubs and blew hot and cold during his stints with AS Roma and Chelsea.

However, Rudiger has not looked back since becoming a mainstay at the back for Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel. The 31-year-old has gone from strength to strength at Real Madrid, turning out over 100 times in two seasons while chipping in with four goals and three assists.

However, as is the case with every top-class player over 30, Rudiger has seen links to Saudi Pro League clubs in the last few weeks. The free-spending Middle Eastern giants want to bring the Real Madrid defensive mainstay to their country in the summer transfer window. However, the former Chelsea defender does not want to listen to their offers.

Should Rudiger leave Real Madrid?

Antonio Rudiger is happy and content at Real Madrid and does not want to depart from the Santiago Bernabeu anytime soon. The German defender’s stance makes sense, considering he is the undisputed first-choice centre-back for the reigning La Liga champions.

Interestingly, the Real Madrid defensive mainstay has also captured the attention of European bigwigs, including Bayern Munich. However, the 31-year-old will not entertain any offers to leave Los Blancos, and why would he?

The Merengues are on top of the world, with barely anything going against them. The impending arrival of Kylian Mbappe can potentially transform Real Madrid into a winning machine. So, Rudiger will be raring to win many more trophies in his stint with the Spanish giants.
