West Ham United have scheduled medical tests for teenage star Luis Guilherme, who will join from Palmeiras in a €30 million deal.
According to Fabrizio Romano, West Ham United are preparing to conduct medicals for Luis Guilherme after finally agreeing on a deal with Palmeiras. The 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid will move to London in a €30 million deal, including add-ons, as the Hammers are likely to announce their first arrival this summer next week.
Luis Guilherme set for West Ham medicals
West Ham United have been trying to scour the Brazilian market for a few weeks now, and finally, after a significant effort to sign many players, they are on the verge of landing their first signing of the summer. Luis Guilherme is set to arrive in London on Monday to finalise his move to the Hammers.
There were concerns about West Ham losing out on Guilherme, although they missed out on defensive target Fabricio Bruno. However, with the 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid, they may have found a way, as West Ham have now agreed a deal with Palmeiras worth a reported €30 million.
Of it, €23 million will be fixed fees with €7 million, in addition to allowing Palmeiras to have a 20% sell-on clause inserted in the contract. The Brazilian side might have wanted to bring in more money for the teenager. But at this moment, the Hammers found a way to reach an agreement.
Guilherme will now arrive in London and undergo his medicals on Tuesday or Wednesday. Overall, there is plenty of optimism about concluding the deal, as the Hammers could announce the capture of the 18-year-old Brazilian wonderkid as soon as next week.
West Ham could have a huge summer
With the Guilherme deal on the verge of being finalised, it appears Julen Lopetegui wants signings to come in quickly ahead of pre-season. They are chasing Girona’s Aleix Garcia, as the Spanish boss wants some key positions strengthened in the summer.
They are also chasing a host of other Brazilian stars, including Wesley Gassova and Vitao. Super agent Kia Joorabchian is pushing for Vitao to join the Hammers, and that is a deal that could materialise for the East London outfit.
