Chelsea will not entertain loan bids for Romelu Lukaku amid Napoli links

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a move away from the West London club this summer, with Napoli interested.

Romelu Lukaku was on loan at AS Roma last season, and he was outstanding for them. He has been linked with a move to Napoli this summer. However, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea will only sell the player permanently, and they will not allow a loan exit of the Belgian.

The Blues reportedly value him at £38 million, and it will be interesting to see if any club is willing to pay up. Napoli are reportedly keen on signing the experienced attacker. Lukaku has already worked with newly-appointed Napoli manager Antonio Conte at Inter Milan, and a reunion with the Italian manager will be quite attractive for the Belgian.

Conte knows the player well as well, and he will feel that Lukaku might make an instant impact. So, the Italian tactician is pushing for the move to sign him. Napoli are expected to lose Victor Osimhen this summer, and they will need to bring in a reliable goalscorer. Lukaku has a proven pedigree, and he could be the ideal replacement for the Nigerian.

The 31-year-old Chelsea striker scored 21 goals with AS Roma this past season, and he has previously shown his quality with Inter Milan as well. There is no doubt that he would be a quality acquisition for Napoli if they can get the deal done. The Serie A giants should have the financial resources to get the deal done especially if they sell Osimhen. The Nigerian is expected to cost a lot of money this summer.

Lukaku must leave Chelsea permanently

Lukaku does not have a future at Chelsea, and returning to Stamford Bridge will not be an option for him. He will look to put an end to his Chelsea nightmare and leave the West London club permanently this summer.

Meanwhile, the Blues will look to save on his wages as well. A permanent exit will be ideal for all parties, and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds. Recent reports have claimed that Napoli can only afford a loan move.

Lukaku will be hoping to sort out his long-term future and focus on his football now. Another loan move will not be ideal for the player or Chelsea. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Blues are unwilling to entertain the idea of a loan transfer.
