Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle United, and West Ham are keen on signing Feyenoord defensive sensation Lutsharel Geertruida.
According to a report from AD, Multiple Premier League clubs are interested in acquiring the services of Lutsharel Geertruida. The Feyenoord full-back has been in sensational form in recent seasons, and his performances have resulted in interest from Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle United, and West Ham United.
Geertruida has come up the ranks at the Dutch club. He has been a part of their first team since the summer of 2018 and has been involved in close to 200 matches for the senior team. He had an exceptional 2023/24 season, where he contributed towards 14 goals (9 goals, 5 assists) in 47 outings across competitions.
His contract with Feyenoord runs out in the summer of 2025, and he looks keen on making the move to a bigger club amidst a lot of interest. With him unlikely to pen down a new deal, the Dutch club will look to sanction his sale in the summer as they won’t want to risk losing him for free.
RB Leipzig wanted to sign him last summer and were willing to offer around €32.5 million. But the deal collapsed, and Lutsharel Geertruida remained at the club. This time around a departure seems almost certain, but the fee will be a touch on the lower side with just a year left on his deal.
English clubs want to sign Geertruida in the summer
While Feyenoord have not received an offer yet, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle United, and West Ham are all clearly interested in Lutsharel Geertruida because of his huge potential and his ability to feature out wide as well as in the heart of the defence.
Arne Slot, who has just made the move from the Dutch club to Liverpool, is keen on having the 23-year-old at his disposal at Anfield. His arrival will give him the option to use Trent Alexander-Arnold in the centre of the park.
Newcastle United are also keen on adding depth having struggled in the 2023/24 campaign because of injuries to key players. With Emerson Royal expected to be on the move, Tottenham seem interested in bringing Geertruida to the club.
The Hammers want to strengthen the right-back position, and they feel the Dutch full-back could be a great signing for the short as well as the long run. The player is currently with the Dutch national team preparing for the Euros, and he is expected to decide his future after the end of the continental tournament in Germany.
