Chelsea will soon hold talks with the representatives of Michael Olise, looking to beat Manchester United to the 22-year-old Crystal Palace winger.
According to Academy Scoop, Michael Olise is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The Crystal Palace winger is also a target for Manchester United heading into the summer transfer window. However, the Blues are stepping up their efforts to sign the 22-year-old winger, with talks with his representatives on the cards.
The rise and rise of Michael Olise
Michael Olise has gone from strength to strength since joining Crystal Palace from Reading in July 2022. The London native was already a highly-rated prospect during his youth career after passing through the academies at Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City. However, he rose in prominence during his stint with Reading.
Meanwhile, the youngster will unlikely represent England on the international stage, considering he is in the French squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics. As for his performances at the club level, the 22-year-old struggled with fitness issues for large parts of the 2023/24 campaign.
However, Olise enjoyed an excellent 2023/24 season, contributing to 16 goals in only 19 outings across all competitions. The young winger found the back of the net ten times while providing six assists. However, Crystal Palace will face a tough battle to keep hold of the French youth international, with Chelsea and Manchester United vying for his signature.

Chelsea’s interest in Michael Olise is understandable. The Blues want to bolster their attack in the summer transfer window, especially with Raheem Sterling, Noni Madueke, and Mykhailo Mudryk blowing hot and cold. Olise has thus emerged as a viable target for Chelsea, with the West London club ready to contact his representatives over a summer move.
As for Manchester United, the Red Devils are desperate for a long-sought solution to the right-wing woes. With Jadon Sancho and Antony failing to impress and Mason Greenwood facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford, Olise is an attractive target for the Red Devils. However, Manchester United might fall behind in the race to sign the 22-year-old Crystal Palace winger.
Meanwhile, Enzo Maresca reportedly likes Olise, meaning the newly-appointed Chelsea manager should approve a summer move. However, it will be interesting to see if Manchester United can steal a march on the Blues for the young winger’s signature.
