Saudi and MLS clubs set to submit offer for Kevin De Bruyne

Clubs from the Middle East and America are all set to submit an offer for the services of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne.

According to a report from Football Insider, Kevin De Bruyne is on the wishlist of quite a few clubs from across the globe. With his contract at Manchester City running out in 12 months, Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer clubs could look to prise him away from Pep Guardiola’s team.

De Bruyne has been a part of the City setup since joining them from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015. The Belgian international has only gone from strength to strength over the years and has been one of the best attacking midfielders in the world for a while now.

While he has done wonders for the Manchester-based club and is quite happy there, his contract situation is making things complicated. With his contract running out in 12 months, clubs are looking to make an offer for his signature in the summer.

Talks over a potential renewal did begin during the 2023/24 season but the talks were put on hold following his injury. Despite being out months, the 32-year-old still ended the season with 18 assists and six goals in just over 1,700 minutes of first-team football.

Saudi and MLS clubs’ keen on De Bruyne

De Bruyne’s representatives are expected to meet the club in the coming weeks to talk about a potential new deal. City are currently pondering about handing him his final long-term deal. Meanwhile, Guardiola is desperate to keep hold of the Belgian star as he looks to continue his dominance with the English club.

The former Wolfsburg midfielder would be willing to continue at City but he wants to know what kind of role he will have at the club moving ahead. With no real development regarding a new deal, clubs from Saudi Arabia and the United States are both ready to knock on the Premier League champions’ door for his services.

They will present De Bruyne with an offer that could see him leave the Manchester-based club in the summer. Both the SPL and the MLS are looking to sign more European stars in the upcoming window and they are trying to get their hands on one of the best in the world.
