Liverpool, Newcastle United vying for Bryan Mbeumo, player wants summer move

Liverpool and Newcastle United are both interested in acquiring the services of Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo who wants a summer move.

According to a report from L’Equipe, Bryan Mbeumo could be on the move in the upcoming transfer window as the player wants to join a bigger club. There is interest in his services from the likes of Newcastle United and Liverpool, both clubs surely can prise him away from the Bees.

Mbeumo came up the ranks at Troyes and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining Brentford back in the summer. He played a key role in helping them earn promotion to the English top flight and has been a consistent performer for them over the years.

He has featured in 200 matches for them and has contributed towards 92 goals. Despite being out for close to 3 months in the 2023/24 season, the 24-year-old versatile forward has nine goals and six assists in his 25 Premier League outings.

His consistent performances haven’t unnoticed and there is a lot of interest in him. With only two years left on his deal at Brentford, clubs are considering making a move for him in the upcoming window.

Newcastle and Liverpool keen on Mbeumo

Newcastle United and Liverpool have both expressed in the services of the versatile forward who can feature on the right flank and can even start up top when needed. The Magpies want more firepower power as they look to bounce back after a disappointing season. They feel Mbeumo could add a lot of quality to their squad.

As far as the Merseyside club are concerned, they are looking to reinforce the right flank with Mohamed Salah’s future at the club uncertain. Even if he does end up staying for another season, the Reds are looking to be prepared for the situation by signing the Brentford attacker.

While both English giants are keen on his signature, the player also wants to play for a bigger club and is ready to make a move in the summer. He has been a part of the Bees’ first team setup for five years and he now wants a bigger challenge. The 24-year-old wants to feature in the biggest competitions and a move to either club will help him fight for important things.
