West Ham United working to seal Luis Guilherme transfer

West Ham’s director is present in Brazil to discuss a deal with Palmeiras for their 18-year-old attacker, Luis Guilherme.

According to Vene Casagrande, West Ham are eager to seal a move for Luis Guilherme. Their director is present in Brazil to discuss a deal with Palmeiras. Tim Steidtn is thought to be in the South American nation to sign players, with the 18-year-old attacker firmly on the Hammers’ list.

West Ham in a move for Luis Guilherme?

Julen Lopetegui does not want any lapses in the transfer business this summer as he looks to build a formidable squad capable of breaking into the top six next season. West Ham are already closing in on Fabricio Bruno from Flamengo, and now director Tim Steidtn does have another South American player on his mind.

The Hammers director will remain in Brazil for the time being, as he’s reportedly holding talks with Palmeiras about Luis Guilherme. The 18-year-old South American has been garnering significant interest from European giants, with West Ham being the somewhat surprising names in pursuit of the teenager.

Chelsea are among those keen on Guilherme, and now West Ham appear a bit closer to the action than any other side. Palmeiras has continued to produce top talents in recent years, and they might also consider an offer from the Hammers. Another South American Journalist, Jorge Nicola, stated a £21 million offer could be made.

Guilherme likes to play on the right wing and cuts inside to use his favoured left foot. He’s considered a solid cover for Jarrod Bowen ahead of the new campaign and is already seen as a big talent for the future. However, whether Palmeiras make anything of that £21 million bid remains the question, although the Hammers are showing big ambition ahead of what appears to be a busy summer at the London Stadium.

Palmeiras uninterested in selling Guilherme?

As per Vene Casagrande, whatever offer Steidtn might have proposed, Palmeiras do not wish to move forward with any deal. The reporter hints that the Brazilian side may not be interested in selling the teenager just yet to West Ham or anyone else.

However, should a big offer arrive, they might consider bids, especially considering Guilherme’s current deal expires in 2026. Moreover, his curerent age does permit him to leave Brazil immediately should he sign for one of the European clubs. Hence, while Palmeiras are seemingly rejecting the idea of a departure, they might be waiting for a more lucrative offer to come in for them to consider.
