Manchester United want to sign Jarrad Branthwaite regardless of managerial situation

Manchester United are eager to sign Jarrad Branthwaite, regardless of how their managerial situation develops in the summer.

According to Sky Sports, the Manchester United managerial saga will have no effect whatsoever on their pursuit of 21-year-old target Jarrad Branthwaite. INEOS is looking to strengthen the position ahead of the summer window and prioritise a move for the Everton winger.

Manchester United want Jarrad Branthwaite

The Manchester United managerial situation remains unresolved after a big report in the Guardian a day before their FA Cup Final claimed Erik ten Hag would be sacked irrespective of the result at Wembley. However, after the Red Devils won the Final, a decision on the Dutchman has not been made yet, and many believe he will be sacked despite some increased support from sections of the fanbase.

Some might believe the impending decision on the managerial situation might affect transfers, although the Sky Sports report suggests they are eager to bring Jarrad Branthwaite, irrespective of who features in the dugout next term. Hence, Manchester United and INEOS might begin proceedings to find a way with Everton for the 21-year-old target.

Manchester United are best-placed to sign Branthwaite despite competition from the likes of Tottenham and Manchester City. The Red Devils have the appeal for the player to make his career at Old Trafford, although they have alternatives should they fail to sign the Everton man.

Hence, with the managerial situation not expected to hinder their pursuit of Branthwaite, Manchester United must still manage their finances when pursuing the defender. The 21-year-old target will cost more than £60-70 million in the current market, with Everton set to make the best out of the situation and his market value.

Everton need to sell a big player or two

Everton’s precarious financial situation begs for a big player to be sold in the summer window, with the likes of Branthwaite and Amadou Onana pencilled in to leave. The latter has the interest of several clubs including Arsenal, with the former now a big target for Manchester United.

Everton are anticipating offers for Branthwaite, as they must sell a top player or two to comply with PSR rules. Hence, there’s a likelihood of both Branthwaite and Onana departing for big money, with some top clubs hoping to benefit from the Toffees’ predicament.
