Crysencio Summerville ready to leave Leeds United this summer

Aston Villa and Newcastle United have received a boost in their pursuit of Crysencio Summerville as he is ready to leave Leeds United.

According to a report from Football Insider, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are both looking to bolster their attack ahead of next season, and they have their eyes set on Crysencio Summerville. The Dutch winger has been in sensational form this season and both Premier League clubs are keen on having him in their squad

While Summerville is an integral part of Leeds United’s first team, he has no intentions of continuing at the club for another season. With the Dutchman looking for a move away from the club, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have both received a boost.

Crysencio Summerville’s time at Leeds United

Summerville arrived at Leeds United in the summer of 2020. He started with their Under-21 team and in a year, he was promoted to the first team. The 22-year-old has only gone from strength to strength in recent years.

The former Dutch youth international has had an exceptional 2024/25 season. He has featured in 49 matches and has contributed towards 31 goals. The youngster found the back of the net on 21 occasions and even bagged 10 assists.

The former Feyenoord youth product has been a standout performer for Leeds. Despite his performances and the team’s efforts, they have failed to return to the English top flight. Even 90 points in their 46 outings were not good enough.

Earlier in the season, reports suggested that failing to gain promotion could have huge financial consequences for Leeds United. They will have to sanction quite a few sales to balance their books. With the 22-year-old being amongst their high-value assets, they could generate a significant fee from his departure.

However, Summerville’s likely departure will not solely be down to the need to raise funds. The player wants to try a new challenge elsewhere following their failure to gain promotion and there is no shortage of interest.

Newcastle, Aston Villa keen on the Dutchman

Leeds United value him at around £35-40 million, a figure that Newcastle and Aston Villa could look to pay to land him at their club. The Magpies want to reinforce their squad following a disappointing campaign, and they feel Summerville could be a great fit for them.

Aston Villa have done wonders under Unai Emery, and they are looking to further bolster their attack as they prepare for Champions League football. They feel the Leeds forward’s versatility and his ability to create panic in the opposition’s defence could be of great use to them.

With the player looking to leave, Leeds United in need of money and two Premier League clubs keen on his signature, Summerville’s future is one to watch out for.
