Newcastle United ready to triple wages of Tosin Adarabioyo

Newcastle United have presented a lucrative offer, tripling the wages, in their effort to sign Tottenham target Tosin Adarabioyo.

According to a report from Football Insider, Newcastle United are keen on acquiring the services of Tosin Adarabioyo as they look to bolster their defence ahead of next season. They have been in constant dialogue with the player’s representatives and now look set to complete the signing of the Fulham defender.

Adarabioyo has been a consistent performer for the Cottagers over the years. While he might have only featured in 25 matches this season because of injury, the former Manchester City youth product is a proven Premier League defender and his contract situation has resulted in a lot of interest from clubs in the English top flight.

His contract at Fulham is all set to expire at the end of June. The player has already rejected multiple renewal offers. He looks all set to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer.

Tottenham are behind Newcastle in the pursuit of Adarabioyo’s services

Tottenham are one of the clubs keen on having him in their squad. Despite having signed two top-quality centre-backs over the last two windows, their manager Ange Postecoglou wants to add more depth to his backline.

They have been in talks with the player’s representatives for a long while now. But, it seems Newcastle have overtaken the North London club in the race to his signature. The Magpies are in advanced talks with the player to secure his services as a free agent.

Eddie Howe’s team want to reinforce their defence on a priority basis. Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman both suffered a long-term injury towards the end of the season. They might not return in time for next season.

As a result, they are pushing hard to secure the services of the former City youth player for free. In order to ensure they do not miss out on the 26-year-old defender, the Magpies are all set to hold talks with the player in London on Thursday.

They are offering Adarabioyo a contract which will triple his wages. With the Magpies putting forward a massive offer, they are now well ahead of Spurs and somewhat in control of the situation. If things go according to plan, the Fulham defender could be seen playing for Newcastle in the 2024/25 season.
