Chelsea, Manchester United formulating offers to sign Aaron Anselmino

Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly ready to do everything they can to sign Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors.

According to a report by Argentine outlet Planera BJ, Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing Aaron Anselmino in the summer transfer window. The two Premier League heavyweights are ready to go all out to secure the services of the 19-year-old Boca Junior defensive sensation, with bids worth around €25 million in the works.

Who is Aaron Anselmino?

Aaron Anselmino has established himself as one of the best young defensive prospects in his homeland in the last 12 months. A native of Bernardo Larroude, he began his youth career at Juventud Unida before landing at Boca Juniors a few years ago.

The 19-year-old centre-back rose through the ranks at Boca Juniors before breaking into the first-team squad last year, hours after signing his first professional contract with the club. Since then, Anselmino has penned two new deals with Boca Juniors, making nine appearances while finding the back of the net once.

Meanwhile, Anselmino’s progress at Boca Juniors has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United. The two Premier League heavyweights are formulating offers worth up to €25 million to sign the young centre-back in the summer transfer window.

Premier League beckons?

Manchester United’s interest in Aaron Anselmino is understandable. The Red Devils are parting ways with Raphael Varane in the summer transfer window. In addition, Jonny Evans faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford. So, Manchester United should invest in a young centre-back, with the Boca Juniors defensive sensation emerging as a viable target.

As for Chelsea, the West London club will see Thiago Silva depart from Stamford Bridge as a free agent on July 1. In addition, Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile face an uncertain future at Chelsea. So, Anselmino has emerged as an option worth considering for the Blues.

With Chelsea and Manchester United ready to go all out and cough up around €25 million to secure Aaron Anselmino’s services, a summer move is on the cards. It will be interesting to see if the 19-year-old arrives in Europe in the coming weeks by joining either Chelsea or Manchester United.
